Are you interested in becoming a true leader? Do you want to understand the inner workings of Skiatook and learn how you can contribute? If you aspire to be the voice of your generation, gain insights from local business leaders, and promote positivity, then Skiatook's Rising Leaders is the perfect opportunity for you!

It is simple... Skiatook’s Rising Leaders is a program of the Skiatook Chamber of Commerce and is for students who reside within the Skiatook school district (public, private or homeschool) and are 14 years old & in the 9th grade through 18 years old & in 12th grade. We offer students unique experiences beyond the classroom, focusing on helping develop life and business skills and fostering leadership through collaboration with local leaders. Our goal is to deepen their understanding of the community, emphasize the value of community service, and illustrate the interconnectedness of the Chamber, City, Schools, and Businesses in shaping our local economy.

Students will learn of a variety of industries, what it takes to achieve it and how they can do so if they wish. They also learn the importance of professionalism, resume building, interview skills and more. Life is not a cookie cutter. In offering this program, giving students the opportunity to hear from business leaders, volunteering and networking, we are creating a workforce pipeline for Skiatook all while instilling life/ business skills into these students before they head out into the real world.

S.R.L. meets once a month from 7:00am-7:40am at Skiatook FBC, West Rogers Campus from October- April. A light breakfast will be served each meeting. Aside from the non tangible benefits that students will gain (Networking, Leadership Skills, Learning, Community, having a Voice and Positivity) those that meet all requirements will also receive an end of the year certificate of completion and celebration. Those that are graduating Seniors will have the opportunity to apply for our Scholarship at the end of the school year.

Due to the partnerships that have been nurtured between the Skiatook Chamber of Commerce, our local businesses and entities, there are a few opportunities available to members. Specialized field trips, classes, and Graduating Seniors enrolled in the Rising Leaders program have the unique opportunity to apply for our scholarship that is awarded each May.

We, as the Skiatook Chamber, are assisting in creating future leaders while creating a workforce pipeline for our business community.

Application.

Each school year, Rising Leaders Members are required to fill out a new application for acceptance. After acceptance, there will be an Orientation. This spells out what to look forward to and what the expectations are. Aside from being Positive & Engaged, members are required to attend 5 of the 7 Morning Meetings and Volunteer at 2 Chamber Events per semester (as the events calendar allows).
